Paul Clifford | Founder
Paul Clifford, founder of Hopdox, has over 30 years of experience in creating systems and processes that simplify manual work, driven by his passion for automation. Before Hopdox, Paul founded Simplifile, the leading platform for electronic recording of land record documents, which integrated nearly 2,500 counties under his 20-year leadership. His career also includes roles as director of corporate strategic planning at iLumin, where he developed strategic business plans for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, as well as a business strategy consultant and Senior Financial Analyst at the Clorox Company. Paul holds a BS in Finance from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.

Auri Burnham | Cofounder
Auri Burnham, CFO of Hopdox, is a seasoned finance professional with decades of experience in the real estate, software, construction, and payments industries. He has developed and implemented industry-specific accounting and finance processes that enhance efficiency and accuracy, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation within his teams. Auri holds a Master of Accountancy from Brigham Young University and is a licensed CPA. His previous roles include serving as CFO at Rimrock Construction and Simplifile, where he helped establish the company as a market leader in electronic recording of land record documents.

Brian Boike | President
Brian, President of Hopdox, is a visionary leader with a proven track record in technology and innovation. He has held high-level positions at respected financial institutions and fintech companies, including Simplifile, United Wholesale Mortgage, and Flagstar Bank. At Hopdox, Brian is responsible for driving strategic initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation, and leveraging emerging technologies to transform business operations. His ability to inspire teams and deliver exceptional results is rooted in his passion for innovation and curiosity. Brian holds a B.S. from Bowling Green State University and an M.B.A. from Wayne State University.

Karl Trottnow | Senior Vice President, County Relations
Karl has over 35 years of experience in property records, with a focus on eRecording since 2005. Before joining Hopdox, he spent 10 years as an eRecording submitter and served as Simplifile’s County Account Manager for more than 5 years, dedicated to improving the county eRecording experience. An active member of the Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) since 2008, Karl has co-chaired the eRecording Business Requirements work group and contributed to numerous committees. He is also a frequent presenter at industry events. Karl holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Akron.

Trenton Stutz | Senior Vice President, Product
Trenton leads product development at Hopdox, where he helps shape the future of eRecording with thoughtful, user-centric technology. He brings a strong track record of driving product innovation and scaling complex systems, especially in the land records and fintech space. Before joining Hopdox, Trenton held key product leadership roles in the eRecording ecosystem, including leading product strategy at Simplifile and driving mortgage technology initiatives at nCino Mortgage. He holds a degree from Brigham Young University and has earned professional certifications in product analytics, reflecting his commitment to using data to inform decisions.
